Spill the Beans Game Boards and Recording Sheets

Game Boards on TPT
Hope this posting makes your classroom life easier! Students as well as teachers, love to play games. These ‘Spill the Beans’ games are a fabulous way to get your students interacting with each other and reinforce the math vocabulary that is so necessary for students.

Years ago, when I first made this game, I only had one sheet and just used it for multiple operations. As I began to diversify my math centers and lessons, I put expanded the titles so children could easily see the skill involved.
Easy roll & cover

All you need to start the easiest level, which is simply to identify the number of dots rolled on the cube, is the Cover the Number game board, crayons or markers for each player, and a number cube. I usually have them play as partners so can check each other when they count the dots.
Color in number rolled
Player 1 rolls-counts and colors in that number anywhere on the board. Player 2 rolls-counts and uses a different color to color in the number that is rolled. Continue until all the numbers are colored in or time is called. If there are no more uncolored numbers that you rolled, you lose that turn.

If your target numbers are still numbers 0-6 you can use the same board numbers for operations addition, subtraction and multiplication.

Add 2 or 3 numbers

Multiply
When your students are ready to add and subtract higher numbers, use the board with numbers starting with 9 and higher.

You can also use the same board when ready for multiplication practice. If you have students ready to use any of above operations but with even higher target numbers, there is a generic board that can be used with any operation.

I have used these recording sheets for many activities. Simply cut down the sheet down the middle so each partner could each have own sheet.
